A mem is anything that helps you create a connection between a word and its meaning. Often colloquially called “educational memes”, a mem could really be a photo, GIF, mnemonic, video, cartoon, example sentence, etymology or even a witty remark.

Come up with a brilliant idea for a mem, have you? Great! There are a few things you should know:
At the moment, it's only possible to create a mem for an item (word or phrase) during a learning or reviewing session, so essentially only when you are presented with a new item or an item you got incorrect during a reviewing session.
Follow these steps to create a mem:
1. When presented with an item you will be able to select a mem of your preference. If you have come up with a more creative idea for a new mem you will have to swipe right in order to be presented with the option of creating your own mem.
2. Once you have tapped on the '+ Create your own mem' button, you will be able to create a new mem. At the moment it is only available to create a Text Mem in the Android App. If you would like to add a photo, GIF, mnemonic, video, or cartoon, you will have to consult the website to do so.
Type in your funny and witty idea, then tap on 'Save Mem'. Your created mem will be your chosen mem for that item, and other memrisers will be able to choose it and give you points for doing such great work at mem-creation.
